Clarifications: The information about this species dates back to research carried out in the 90s, the last update on the subject being the publication of Anartia in 2021 and the 2024 IVIC update by Omar Sumoza. Regarding "proto-plumage" in recreation, it is due to "recent" research in which the presence of possible #plumage has been discovered in several #ornithischian dinosaurs (most notable examples: #kulindadromeus and Psittacosaurus) demonstrating that not only #carnivores #coelurosaurs had them. Current research may be subject to change. But they are founded by national and international #paleontologists.

The first reports of #dinosaurs in the country date back to the 1980s in the #Venezuelan Andes, in the La Quinta region, from a Franco-Venezuelan investigation (Oscar Odreman, Donal Russell, Bernard Battail and Dale Russell) , the samples were finally identified erroneously as a Lesothosaurus. Subsequent investigations in which experts such as Jhon Moody, etc. participated, followed by others led by a Swedish - Venezuelan team from the Marcelo Sánchez-Villagra laboratory, classified it as a completely new #dinosaur, Laquintasaura venezuelae and it is currently considered as a possible precursor to a #basal Thyreophorus, (like Scutellosaurus). Therefore, it was believed to be part of the lineage that would give rise to famous armored dinosaurs such as #stegosaurus and #ankilosaurus.

Fossils are made up of overlapping remains of several individuals. He lived during the #Hettangian in the lower #Jurassic, in what is now the La Quinta formation of the Táchira state. It was a small biped with an #omnivorous diet that lived in packs and probably lived with the #tachiraptor admirabilis.🇻🇪
